October Highlights

Hi everyone!
I just wanted to touch on some things that I did in October. It has been crazy lately trying to finish school up and then a week ago I had a surgery on my eye. But I will touch on more that happened lately in my next post that will be covering November and December.

One of the first projects that I finished up in October was a cute Autumn sign in a frame from the Wood Connection.

I thought it turned out great! I really do love the colors and everything. The colors work together so well.

I ordered something to help me out with crocheting corner to corner afghans. So far I haven't used it yet but I am planning on it in the upcoming weeks.

If you would like to know how this works you can find a tutorial on Repeat Crafter Me's blog page. You can find the link to the tutorial HERE.

I also started the JoAnn Craft Stores Mystery Stitch Along with Bernat Blanket Yarn! It was really fun but in October I only got through two of the clues.

Here is the first clue!

This was the second clue!

I did the third clue just barely because I have had a little more time then I did in October.

Press HERE to go to JoAnn Craft Store's website to see the stitch along for crocheting and if you like to knit there is one for knitting too!

I finished one for my grandma before I finished the first one that I started (the one up above).

This is the one that I made for my grandma! It is all done and I gave it to her a couple of weeks ago and she loved it. My grandma is the one that taught me how to crochet a few years ago so I thought it would be nice to crochet something for her for her teaching me! :)

My mom is so cute! She has all of these amazing ideas for parties on holidays. She had a candy corn themed Halloween party! She loves to do things with parties.

Here is the placement for the kid's table.

This was how the table was set for the adults.

My mom had both of my sisters make a desert that was candy corned themed. Both the cupcakes and rice krispy treats were amazing!

Then for dinner my mom had two different soups that we could choose from, either taco soup or a really good potato soup. My mom also ordered some really good bread bowls that looked like pumpkins. She really thought of everything!

She also had some really cute games picked out that everyone enjoyed. She had bingo, musical broom stick (where we had to pass around a broom stick, everything else is the same from musical chairs), and she even got dry ice so that the little kids could see it! My mom did an amazing job with this Halloween party (like she does with every party).

I finished one more project this month, although I was working on many.

I bought this during August at the Wood Connection but I really wanted to finish it before I moved on to my other projects. I think that it turned out really cute.

I have one more post about November and December Highlights that I want to get up really soon and then I will start to post the different projects that I do more in depth, like what materials you will need and where to find them. I just really wanted to show you guys what I have been up to the past few months.

Have a great New Year!

August and September Highlights

Hey Everyone!
I just wanted to highlight some things that I worked on and some things that I did with my family during the months of August and September.

August
During August I got my first job at an amazing wood craft store called The Wood Connection. This was kind of bad for me because most of my paycheck went to getting different crafts from there! It has been really fun working there and seeing all of the fun, cute things that are there and seeing what other people do with those crafts.

The first week at my job I had the opportunity to make a cute pirate ship from some of the left over sail boats that we had at the store. With a little help from my sister and my mom we came up with a really cute design!

This is the cute design that we came up with! I like to think of it as the S.S. Warner!

Then in the later part of August my brother and sister-in-law had a gender reveal party for their first child. It was really cute. My brother and sister-in-law love bees and they have a beehive in their back yard so they had their gender reveal be a bee theme.

They had one of my sister-in-law's coworkers make the cake and when they cut into the bottom layer sixlets with either blue or pink would pour out to let us know what they were having.

They are having a girl! All of us were super excited!

One of my high school friends was going to college across the country and I wanted to give her something so I let her pick out a project that I would make for her. It was a fun project to let her pick it out and to do it for her. Hopefully it will help her to not feel home sick if she does.

I think that it turned out amazing. I love the light blue and I just think that it was really cute. She loved it when I gave it to her and she was really happy about it.

On August 24 my first semester in college started. It was crazy to think about and to actually be starting college!

September
Another bonus about working where I do is that I see all of the holiday decorations right when they come out! I love their cute accessory blocks that they have for each season and holiday! I got the Halloween accessory blocks early so that I could do them and have them ready for Halloween.

I think that they turned out really well. I added the yellow glitter to the moon and black glitter to the bat.

I also did the Fall accessory block set. I changed it up a little bit with the paper from the ones that the designers at the wood connection did. Here is the set that I did.

I think that they turned out really cute!

I liked the project that I did for my friend so much that I made myself one with a darker blue.

I really love how both of them turned out.

My mom, my sister and her husband, and I went to the Utah State Fair on one of the last days that they were having it. It was really fun to go and that has been a fun family tradition for a while now. One of my favorite parts is going to look at the home making things like the quilts and blankets that were crocheted and knitted. I decided that night that we went that I want to put something in that I crochet in the next Utah State Fair. I am still trying to think of something that would be really neat to put in the fair.

From left to right: Me, my mom, my sister, and my sister's husband.
It was a really fun time going with them!

It was also my mom's birthday this month! I appreciate her so much and I got her a lot of things for her from my work because she always does so much for me.

My mom, my sister and her kids, and I went out for lunch on my mom's birthday and we all had a great time!

My sister and her husband got their first home! Everyone in my family was so excited for them!

This a cute picture of them in front of their cute house!

There was a lot of things that happened in August and September. I am really happy that I found the time to tell you guys about the things that my family and I were up to! Have a great day and a Merry Christmas and have fun crafting!!
